Shane Johnson  Graduated from Ephrata High School (WA) in 1994 and Graduated from Whitman College in 1998 paid his dues in a multitude of small roles before striking gold with his portrayal of slick government attorney Cooper Saxe on “Power” (Starz, 2014-). Having grown up in Washington, the actor earned his first screen role, as a soldier in Steven Spielberg’s epic “Saving Private Ryan” (1998), while still attending Whitman College.

After graduating, he began stringing together supporting roles on television shows like “Undressed” (MTV, 1999-2002) and “ER” (NBC, 1994-2009), and films such as “Behind Enemy Lines” (2001) and “Pumpkin” (2002). He got his big break when he was cast as one of the leads in the thriller “Black Cadillac” (2003).

Johnson played one of three men being mysteriously chased by a Cadillac through Wisconsin. He continued making appearances on television with guest spots on “Bones” (FOX, 2005-17) and “Raising the Bar” (TNT, 2008-09), as well as serving as the narrator for “Deep Sea Salvage” (History, 2009).

He branched out into providing voices for video games, including titles in the hit series “Fallout” and “Final Fantasy.” After a memorable guest spot on “Castle” (ABC, 2009-16), he landed a recurring role on Illeana Douglas’s IKEA-produced web series “Easy to Assemble”

.

He co-starred again with Douglas in the dark comedy “Chez Upshaw” (2013). He then took the lead in the fan-favorite hit movie David Jung’s horror film “The Possession of Michael King” (2014) playing a man who tempts demons to possess him. Shane showed in this film that he is truly one of the greatest performers of this generation and most say should have been nominated for an award for his incredible performance.

The Possession of Michael King,’ which is now playing in select theaters and will be available on Blu-ray, DVD, VOD, and iTunes follows the emotionally tortured title character, who initially doesn’t believe in religion, God, or The Devil. Following the sudden death of his wife, Samantha (Cara Pifko), who is involved in an accident after taking advice from a psychic she visited, the Los Angeles-based documentary filmmaker decides to make his next film about the search for the existence of the supernatural.

While Michael is now the sole parent for his young daughter, Ellie (Ella Anderson), he decides to forgo the safety of himself and his child to become the center of what he believes to be as a brilliant experiment. Against the advice and better judgment of his sister, Beth (Julie McNiven), who has moved in with him to help care for Ellie, Michael posts an online ad about his documentary, and he receives an overwhelming response about the different subsets of the occult. .

Michael begins to study various forms of the supernatural, including Satanism, Voodoo, necromancy, and astral travel. He also allows demonologists, necromancers, and various practitioners of the occult to try the deepest and darkest spells and rituals on him. The title hopes that when they fail, he’ll finally be able to prove that religion, spiritualism, and the paranormal aren’t real. But he soon begins to question if his wife was right about her thoughts on psychics and the supernatural, as an evil and horrifying force has begun to possess him.

In the recent interview with us on Hot Topics Celeb TV Sunday Service with DTeflon the actor discussed how he was attracted to the title role, in part because he found the prospect of showing Michael’s emotional and physical descent as he became possessed exciting; how he enjoyed working with Jung on the set, as the director pushed him to capture the best physical and emotional performances he could, beyond the depths the actor initially thought he could reach; and how he thinks the film is a funny comment on modern culture and society, as people are so willing to participate in dangerous activities, but the moment someone actually needs help, they aren’t so ready to help them.

In the role that Shane believes changed his life …He initially began appearing as Cooper Saxe on a recurring basis during the first season of the Award-Winning Series “Power” (Starz, 2014-).

Shane Johnson originally tried out for the role of Tommy Egan on ‘Power played by Joseph Sikora

Johnson struggled to find stable work as an actor when Starz began casting for Power in 2013. As a result, despite not being able to relate to frightening Tommy Egan, he leaped at the chance to audition for the part. In an

“So I came into Power, and I auditioned for Tommy.” “I knew this wasn’t my casting at the moment. But I’m a performer! So I’m going to be Tommy. I grew up on a farm, but I’m being streetwise Tommy.”

Needless to say that Johnson never heard back from the producers and casting director about his Tommy audition and the role went to actor Andy Bean, who portrayed FBI Agent Greg Knox on Power before being recast with Joseph Sikora in the role.

Though Sikora was discouraged at the time, he didn’t realize that Tommy would eventually lead him to the role of Saxe.

The character is a U.S. Attorney working to bring down Omari Hardwick’s criminal kingpin, and became a series regular in the show’s second season and now is in the next chapter of the series Powerbook 2 Ghost
